We’ll give you a complete breakdown on the weather in Hurghada month by month so no matter what you’re looking for from your holiday, you’ll be able to plan the best time to visit Hurghada for you!

When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
Everyone is different and if you’re planning a trip to Hurghada, you will want to visit at the best time for you depending on what you want to do whilst you’re there and the weather that you prefer. However, Hurghada is definitely worth visiting no matter what interests you have so you want to make sure that you visit at the time that is right for you.
For Diving / Snorkelling
Hurghada is a phenomenal destination to visit for diving or snorkelling in the Red Sea. The diving in Hurghada is great for all levels so if you’re a beginner, there are plenty of sights that are perfect for learning where you won’t feel overwhelmed. Equally, there are more challenging drop offs and wreck sites for more experienced divers.
The best time for snorkelling and diving in Hurghada depends on what your goals are. If you’re looking to see sharks then you will want to visit either in the Summer period (between June – September) where you may catch sightings of hammerheads and large fish or in the Autumn period (between September – November). This is a great time to spot oceanic white tips. This is also the time when the water temperatures will be the warmest too so if you’re a bit like Amy and get cold easily, this is when you want to visit Hurghada!
Bear in mind that if you’re visiting between June – August that this is part of the peak season so the dive and snorkelling trips will be quite busy. To avoid peak seasons, you’re best to visit Hurghada for diving and/or snorkelling in either September or November. However, it is often said that October is the best time for diving in Hurghada because it is bustling with incredible marine life and great visibility.
For Beach Bums
Are you someone that loves the beach and sunbathing? You will want to visit Hurghada in either July or August. These are the hottest months of the year in Hurghada so there are plenty of sunbathing opportunities.
Due to Egypt’s hot climate, if you’re visiting during these months, it is super important to apply sun-cream regularly and look after your skin. One of the best tips for visiting Hurghada we can give you is don’t be deceived because it can get windy so sometimes you don’t realise how strong the sun is.
During July & August, these are the peak seasons to travel to Hurghada so you will find that it can be quite busy especially if you’re planning a trip to Paradise Island.

For Introverts
If you’re someone that likes to visit destinations but too many people can make you feel overwhelmed then you will want to visit Hurghada during the off-peak seasons instead.
To avoid the busy periods in Hurghada, you will want to visit in either January or February but you will find that the temperatures are much cooler during this period.
To still enjoy the hot weather but the quieter seasons then you will want to visit either late April and into May or late September and into October. If you visit during October, just bear in mind that the UK has a school break during this time so you will want to avoid those weeks.
For Cultural & Tours

One of the most interesting things about visiting Hurghada is experiencing Egyptian culture and sampling the beauty that it has to offer.
If you’re someone that appreciates the culture of the destination you’re visiting and want to do plenty of sightseeing then you will also want to visit during the off-peak season.
The best time to visit for you is between October – April as you will find that this is the quietest period to visit. The weather will be a bit cooler than the peak months as well so it’s a perfect time for sightseeing and going on day trips from Hurghada. This is especially true if you’re going on any desert excursions as well as the heat can become unbearable.
Where to Stay in Hurghada
When we visited Hurghada, we decided to stay in Makadi Bay at Jaz Palmariva Beach (formerly known as Labranda Royal Makadi) and we absolutely loved it. The standard of the hotel was fantastic, staff were friendly, you had access to the beach and it was the relaxing winter break that we were looking for at the time. It truly is an amazing hotel in Makadi Bay and if you’re looking for relaxation and quiet then this is a great choice.
Other areas that people tend to enjoy include El Gouna or Hurghada town itself. We’d say that staying in Hurghada town is more for a sightseeing trip and El Gouna is more for relaxing & watersports, similar to Makadi Bay. We got to try parasailing in Makadi Bay and we absolutely loved it!
